Telephone lines came to Clyde area in 1924.

In 1924 calls from Clyde and Clyde North via the telephone exchange, between the hours of 8.am - 7 pm for the first three minutes cost eightpence with every extra three minutes a further eightpence. Double the ordinary rates were charged on Sundays, Christmas Day and Good Friday.
